Usindiso Ministries will offer the best assistance and care that could be given to the abused women, their children and teenage girls who are accommodated at the shelter and they will be guided towards being restored and healed - physically, emotionally and spiritually, in a facility where all people are treated with respect and dignity and where no person shall be unfairly discriminated against on the basis of race, creed, colour, disability or age.
Usindiso Ministries offers shelter, basic needs, care, education and social services to abused women, their children and teenage girls. It also offers daily care and education to the children who attend the nursery and pre-school. It works towards networking with all like-minded organizations that share a common goal.

Usindiso Ministries provides shelter for abused and homeless women, their children and teenage girls. All of or residents are provided with their basic needs, counseling and social services. We accommodate up to 85 women and 20 teenage girls.
All of our children attend school, whether nursery or formal school. We have started a day care for the babies, with the mothers taking turns to look after them. This gives the other mothers a chance to attend training, volunteer in the shelter or look for work. Little Fish is the name of our Nursery and Pre-School, which has 65 children attending daily.
The children are aged from 2 - 6 years and come from the shelter, a near-by informal settlement and surrounding areas. The children have three meals a day and are taught using the Montessori method, which says that the older children teach the younger ones. They learn everyday things like tying their shoes, turning a key in a lock, and also drawing, rhymes, singing, etc and are taught in English.
