SANCA Western Cape (South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence) renders professional substance abuse prevention and outpatient treatment services since 1953. The overall objective of our services is to disseminate information on the dangers of substance misuse. We achieve this by focusing on capacity building and developing healthy communities. Through our substance abuse prevention programmes we place much educational emphasis on directly related links with health and social problems such as HIV/AIDS, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, crime, violence and unemployment. We promote a healthy lifestyle, responsible decision-making, enhance quality of life, and restore self-respect and dignity for those affected by alcohol and drug abuse.
SANCA Western Cape has an impressive record in the field of substance abuse work and has developed highly specialised skills and expertise to provide effective prevention and treatment programmes that are easily accessible to target communities.
