Siyanakekela Community Development is an independent, non-racial, non-sexist and non-partisan Community Based Organisation. We strive to empower communities on rural-community development. Siyanakekela Community Development also strives to educate communities on HIV/AIDS and to encourage and assist communities towards self-independence by promoting self-help projects in the communities and solve community problems on their own, which includes women, youth, children and community at large.
Executive Summary
Siyanakekela Community Development was established in 2001 by the members of the community of Ward 26 after realising the impact of HIV/AIDS, the way the children's rights have been abused by some of the community and further more to reduce the dependency of the community by formation of community self help projects of Wards 12 and 13 for poverty alleviation.
Siyanakekela Community Development also contributes in the fights against HIV/AIDS, and the fight against sexual abuse on women and children there will be a change on the behaviour and attitudes of the perpetrators.
