Our Mission is uplift the children of the local, disadvantaged community and to help to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this by providing a high standard of holistic (i.e. spiritual, physical, mental, emotional and social) education to three different age groups and to empower staff and parents with the necessary educational and parenting skills.
We see children who, having attended the centre for three years, are ready for school and enabled to reach their full potential during their future educational careers, and who base their lives on the principles and values of Jesus Christ. We see a community of involved, committed and competent staff and parents.

In response to an expressed need by the community we opened a day care facility to 7 pre-school children on 1 August 2000. We have since grown to 60 children and have a long waiting list! We provide good quality holistic education to the children of Salvokop and surrounding areas. Salvokop is a dilapidated township in the centre of Pretoria: it looks like a small town but in reality several families live in one house: there is much overcrowding and poverty and substandard infrastructure: no street lights, no shopping centre, no public transport. The school and the community centre (of which we are a part) offer the only (limited) recreational facilities. Most of our parents eek out an existence by hawking on the streets or doing whatever piece job they can find.
Good education is expensive – our school fees are R490 per month, but the costs per child are actually closer to R550 per month. As most parents cannot afford the school fees, we offer sponsorships to needy children. The parents pay what they can afford as is determined during sponsorship interviews before admittance and twice yearly after that. Our average income is R170 per child. We have to make up the difference between what the parents pay and the real costs. For this we rely on donations and government subsidy.
Our children are happy and safe in our school. The teachers are qualified and experienced and are still continually receiving training. We get very positive feedback from the local primary schools about our children: we are in close partnership with the primary school in Salvokop and other similar nursery schools and crèches.
