Goals and Objectives

NOAH's main long term objective is to provide safe and affordable housing for the poor elderly within their communities. Our other ongoing objectives are to provide quality primary health care and a variety of social activities to achieve a continuum of care which provides for all the complex needs of older people in a holistic way.

In the coming year, NOAH plans to:

  • Expand the social clubs model in Khayelitsha by establishing two more clubs
  • Provide skills development and activities training for members of both the Khayelitsha and Woodstock social clubs
  • Pilot a project giving residents in NOAH's outlying houses access to our Woodstock-based nursing sister twice a year to enable her to monitor health problems
  • Raise awareness of the implications of diabetes and hypertension (the two most common conditions in the elderly) by providing educational talks
  • Expand our accommodation capacity at our Khayelitsha and Woodstock assisted living homes
