Reaction of a child to the book donation received from GreaterGood's - Donate a Book Campaign.
Jana was fortunate to go on a trip to Cape Town by plane 4 weeks ago. Her first trip since her second Cochlear implant, yes she is one of the fortunate children to have been a candidate for a second Cochlear Implant.
When she spied the book she is holding, Grace goes on a Plane, she stopped teacher Brenda who was reading to the other children and proceeded to page through the book. She stopped at each page where there was a picture of something she remembered seeing on the trip. She had us all enthralled as she chatted in short sentences telling us what she saw.
Thank you once again Carmel Gordon of Investec’s “Cradle Project” for the donation and GreaterGood for initiating the project. It is moments like this when one knows how necessary extended reading books are for the children to have in their classrooms.
