Transport

One of the greatest challenges to working in rural areas of South Africa is transport. Taxi services to the closest towns are few and very irregular. To get staff members of the Anna Foundation to and from rural schools requires transport for staff. School buses leave schools directly after school meaning that extra mural activities require transport for the children to their homes/farms. Transport to races on saturdays is also always a major concern as buses need to be hired for the outing. Any assistance in this regard would be very much appreciated.

Time We Need

once a month - Book keeping assistance

Once a month help with book keeping. Drawing up budgets for fundraising, etc.

flexible - Library set up and organisation

These schools need assistance with the administrative and logistics of manning a library. Most schools have old books lying about that need sorting and systems that need putting in place so a library can be a functional part of the school.

Flexible - Teaching basic English/ Running coaching

We need volunteers who can assist with teaching basic English to slower learners whose mother tongue is isiZulu or Ndebele. Volunteers would also assist with listening to children read. We also need volunteers to assist with training the running teams. Training is at a very elementary level so any midly active person welcome!
