| With winter fast approaching and the colder weather settling in, the Johannesburg SPCA is in desperate need of straw for its stables and blankets for the dogs and cats in its shelter. The Johannesburg SPCA cares for horses and donkeys that have been confiscated due to cruelty or found wondering with no keeper. As a result, its stables are constantly full. The Society uses a tremendous amount of straw and as such, it is currently in short supply. The Society is also in desperate need of blankets, dog and cat and puppy and kitten food to see its animals through the winter months. Other ways you may be able to assist the Society include donating any goods (new or 2nd hand) to the Johannesburg SPCA’s charity and book shop; donating supplies for the 24-hour animal hospital (bandages, cotton wool, 2ml and 3ml syringes are currently in desperate need); donating your used printer cartridges or donating an item for its auction day.
