Optimus in conjunction with Bryanston Methodist church assists those individuals suffering with HIV/AIDS by delivering food parcels to those in their support group. The parcels are a source of nutrition which is vital for HIV/AIDS sufferers. In conjunction with the food parcels, which consist of non perishable goods, Optimus and Bryanston Methodist church now train individuals in Diepsloot informal settlement to grow and supply healthy vegetables to HIV/AIDS sufferers to balance their diet and ensure they receive nutritious fresh food. Optimus also trains HIV/AIDS care givers so that there is a good understanding in the communities about the needs and requirements of HIV/AIDS sufferers, and to increase the life span and quality of life of those suffering with HIV/AIDS.
There are always more requirements than food and Optimus would like to give the group of people they support more in terms of clothing, blankets and activities to do while meeting to collect food parcels and visiting the clinics. For people who are too sick to work they need all the help they can get especially through the cold months of winter.
