At the current time, there are several species of nocturnal wildlife that visit the watering hole at the Daktari Wildlife Orphanage. Food scraps are often left by this watering hole to attract the wildlife. The presence of these animals is evident by their tracks and the absence of the food scraps the next day. To allow volunteers, school groups, disabled and underprivileged guests to view the nocturnal wildlife, the orphanage requires three solar powered motion detector spotlights.
A motion detector spotlight will sense movement in the area below where it is stationed and immediately illuminate the area. As the animals adapt to the light, visitors to the orphanage will be able to view the animals eating or drinking together. As the orphanage has no electricity, the spotlights must operate off solar power. The motion detector spotlights will benefit the visitors to the orphanage whose educational experience will extend long after sunlight has gone. Quite often, disabled and underprivileged guests are welcomed to the orphanage for overnight excursions. These people will greatly appreciate the opportunity to view the nocturnal wildlife. This fulfilling experience is something that the orphanage strives to bring to people who would otherwise not experience such things due to their impediment. Children and local school groups will benefit greatly from the educational aspect of viewing the wildlife.
