Sive Nathi was strated by an ex domestic worker in her home in Khayelitsha in 1997. She had cared for her employer's disabled child for 5 years before he sadly passed on.
With this acquired knowledge she decided it was time to make a difference in her own community. Operation from her two bed roomed home, she began to care for mentally and physically handicapped children in her immediate area. She soon outgrew her modest premises and with help from her own parents, purchased a wooden shed to accomodate additional children.
In 2001 Sive Nathi Home has moved to Blackheath, into two residential houses, with extended rooms, where we currently accomodate 62 HIV/AIDS, mental and physical severely disabled children.
