To provide residential shelter and refuge to abused women and their children as well as to help them find healing and learn the skills that empower them to cope as self sufficient members of society.
Executive Summary
Opened in 1990 Carehaven has grown to accommodate, now, up to 60 women and children who typically stay about 4 months in this secure environment. Carehaven provides time and safety to sort out immediate problems and begin the healing process

Carehaven has just celebrated its 15th anniversary with an Open Day at which the guests of honour were Cheryl Gillwald, deputy minister of correctional services and Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge, deputy minister of health.

Thank you for the curtains
Well, receiving new curtains for crisis was so exciting! I wanted them hung immediately! I came in on Saturday morning "to hang curtains".
