We would like to get a few volunteers together to assist us in doing alien plant and litter clearing.
How will it be accomplished?
Volunteers doing alien clearing will be shown which plants they will be removing and how to go about doing so. The work will be follow-up clearing and entails pulling small plants out the ground to prevent regrowth. The volunteers will move in small groups through specific areas of veld.
Beneficiaries: who are they?
We, as Capetonians will benefit. We will prevent the alien vegetation to take over our beautiful nature reserves and help nature to bring out it's best.
What are the key challenges you foresee?
We hope that we would have enough willing bodies to assist us and that the weather would be favorable.
What will it take to achieve this?
If each volunteer brings their own black bag and a pair of gardening gloves we would be able to do the job.
