My dream is to take our learners to the Boyden Observatory (a planetarium) 30 km outside of Bloemfontein. The planetarium offers free presentations on planets, their distances from the earth, constellations, geographic landforms, the latest space launches and advances in technology. Learners will also be exposed to the history of the stars and planets and the actual observation of the stars, the sun and the moon through telescopes. Information about SALT (The South African Largest Telescope) is also given. I have visited the planetarium and have learned how Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Geography and Technology can be integrated in to understanding the universe. Both learners and educators who visit the planetarium will arrive at a better understanding of the “planet earth and beyond”. |

The Project fits the RNCS outcomes for Physical Science, Geography and Biology. |
