September is Heritage Month in South Africa, with Heritage Day on 24 September celebrating all the achievements of South Africans past and present. An important part of our heritage is the committed work done by South Africa's thousands of community-based organisations, non-governmental organisations and social profit organisations - helping to meet the needs of our people, as well as animals and the environment. In this newsletter, read about why we're using the term "social profit organisations" instead of "non-profit organizations" to reflect this valuable contribution. With the 21st of September being international Gratitude Day, it's an appropriate time to thank all the Causes registered on our website - now over 600 of them - for the important work they do. |

Experience The GiftThank you, This Is The fantastic difference you've made!Huge thanks go to the investors in the first two fully funded projects on the South African Social Investment Exchange - now ready for implementation. City Lodge funded the upgrading of the Book and Toy Library at the Inkululeko Day-care Centre in inner-city Pretoria, and Heifer International's project to boost nutrition and health through community food security in KwaZulu-Natal was funded by private donors. We are truly grateful to all of you for getting these exciting projects off the ground! Many thanks also to Afrox, who bought 1,000 shares in the Ingwavuma Orphan Care project to build homes so that orphaned children can continue to live together on their family land. Thank you also to all those individuals who helped make a Teachers Dream come true for 20 Grade 12 learners from Dingeka High School in Bulwer in KwaZulu-Natal, who visited the Mahwaqa Education Centre to undertake practical work around the scientific concepts of conservation of momentum, Ohm's Law and chemical equilibrium. The experience was also a powerful one for their teacher, who had not previously been able to access laboratory equipment. read more... Latest www.GreaterGoodSA.co.za Statistics
